Today I participated in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. I and 67,000 other walkers all completed a 3K walk/run and raised over $3.35 million for breast cancer research ($1.35K in pledges and $2.0K in registrations! I'm always so touched by this event. I have sponsored it for the last several years and I proudly wear my 'In celebration of Carmen McEwen' bib every year. Carmen, my cousin, is a 9 year survivor of breast cancer and we are so glad that God let us keep her for awhile! There were 5 of us that walked together, Jody, Jayce, Lori, Lisa and I. It was fun to reconnect with friends for such a worthy cause. Thank you Carmen for being my inspiration! We love you!
